4th Medical Camp At Masai Mara
4th Medical Camp at Masai Mara from 23rd to 25th November 2017
The 4th medical camp took place from 23rd to 25th November 2017 at Masai Mara. The team consisted of two doctors (ophthalmologist and general practitioner) from Cargo Human Care (CHC) from Germany and a nurse from the CHC clinic in Nairobi. Local resident and medical officer from rural health centers were also part of the team. The Mara Siria Camp provided two of its Masai warriors as translators, as the majority of locals do not speak English and Swahili.
The Medical Camp consultations were attended by nearly 100 patients of different age groups. In particular, the services of the ophthalmologist, who examined the patients with a slit lamp specially converted for mobile use, were in great demand.
The good news was, there were no serious illnesses in general medicine this time, but there was a lot of complaints especially from women, about back pain and allergic reactions to dust and cold.
The 4th Medical Camp in the Masai Mara was sponsored by:
- GAUFF CONSULTANTS : Flights from Nairobi to the Masai Mara
- PHOENIX SAFARIS: Transport on site
- MARA SIRIA TENTED CAMP : Accommodation and Meals
