Visit to Itolish School
Inspiring Connections with Local Students
A visit to Itolish School, located near Mara Siria Camp, offers a unique opportunity to interact with local children and learn about their daily lives. Guests can join the students during their break time, engaging in friendly conversations, games, and laughter. The visit also provides insight into the challenges the school faces, such as limited resources, and the local life and traditions. Visits can be organized at 10:30, 11:30 or after 3:30. A minimum donation, included with the visit, goes directly towards supporting the school’s educational programs, helping to fund supplies and improvements. Your participation not only offers a meaningful experience but also contributes to shaping a brighter future for these young learners.
Maasai Beadwork Workshop
Craft, Create, and Connect
Experience the vibrant culture of the Masai people through a hands-on beadwork workshop at the camp’s lounge. Talented Masai women will demonstrate their traditional jewellery-making techniques, sharing the cultural significance of their intricate bead patterns and colours. As you craft your own piece, such as a bangle, you’ll not only take home a special keepsake but also gain a deeper understanding of Masai heritage. During the workshop, the women will share stories about their lives, traditions, and community, creating a warm and immersive experience. Your participation directly supports these women, helping to preserve their craft and empower their livelihoods.
Meaningful Memories with a Lasting Impact
Both experiences—visiting Itolish School and participating in the Masai beadwork workshop—offer more than just an activity; they are an opportunity to build authentic connections with the local community and contribute to sustainable tourism. Whether you choose to inspire young minds at the school or learn the artistry of Maasai craftsmanship, your experience will leave a lasting impact on both your heart and the community you support.
