Getting there

Mara Siria Camp is located on top of the Siria Escarpement. It is about 6 hours drive from Nairobi or a one hour flight. A direct flight from Mombasa, Diani or Malindi takes about 3 hours.

How to get to the camp

Get to the camp by flight

The nearest airstrip is Kichwa Tembo. The local airlines Fly Als, Airkenya Express and Safarlink Aviation are flying from Nairobi Wilson daily in the morning and afternoon hours. Mombasa Air Safari flies from the coast directly to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip. Our ground package price includes transfers from/to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip.

Get to the camp by road

Shortest Route (road not in good condition)

Mara Siria Directions - Anafahrtskarte
  • You leave Nairobi on A104 towards Naivasha/Nakuru
  • Shortly before Limuru (large BATA advertising signs) turn left onto B3/Old Naivasha Road
  • Drive until Mai Mahiu and then turn left toward Narok
  • Drive through Narok
  • Turn left at the 3rd junktion (C13, approx. 30 kms from Narok), drive to Masai Mara
  • Drive around 50 km (on gravel road) until Aitong, where the road splits in two
  • Keep to the right and drive about 30 km towards Oloololo Gate (Kichwa Tembo/Bateleur Camp)
  • Shortly after Kichwa Tembo Camp turn right towards Kilima Camp/Mara Siria
  • You will arrive at Mara Siria Camp in about 5 km 🙂

Alternative Route (road in better condition)

  • You leave Nairobi on A104 towards Naivasha/Nakuru
  • Shortly before Limuru (large BATA advertising signs) turn left onto B3/Old Naivasha Road
  • Drive until Mai Mahiu and then turn left toward Narok
  • Drive through Narok and continue straight on B3
  • After Mulot town turn left to Olbobo-Mengit Road (gravel road)
  • Pass Kinyanga town and follow above map until you cross Mara River
  • Turn left into C14 and continue on the main road until Aitong junction, where you turn right into C13
  • Keep to the right on C13 and drive about 30 km towards Oloololo Gate (Kichwa Tembo/Bateleur Camp)
  • Shortly after Kichwa Tembo Camp turn right towards Kilima Camp/Mara Siria
  • You will arrive at Mara Siria Camp in about 5 km 🙂

Info and Coordinates

We strongly recommend using a 4×4 vehicle with a higher ground clearing to get to the camp.
